What is ITAP?

Since 1994, the Santa Clara Valley Water District has been helping landscape managers improve their irrigation efficiency. Through the innovative Irrigation Technical Assistance Program, auditors perform FREE site evaluations to assist property owners in better managing their water use. Our audits show potential savings of up to $1,000 per acre of landscape. To find out more about how to participate in ITAP, download the complete ITAP brochure (PDF 1.2 MB) or contact Kevin Galvin at (408) 265-2607 ext. 2639 for more information.

What is ISHRP?

The District's Irrigation System Hardware Rebate Program (ISHRP) is a rebate program which has been developed to help ITAP participants implement their site-specific hardware upgrade recommendations. The program offers a rebate of 50 percent of the water efficient hardware cost up to $4,000 per site.

Who can participate in ISHRP?

  • Any resident, HOA, business, or commercial property with over one acre of irrigated landscape who has participated in ITAP.

How do I get started?

  • Participate in ITAP; contact Kevin Galvin at (408) 265-2607 ext. 2639 for more information.
  • Review your ITAP report and call (866) 685-2322 to receive a rebate application which will list the qualified hardware recommendations for your site.
  • Purchase and install all the hardware needed for the upgrades; keep the receipt.
  • Mail your completed rebate application form to:

    1400 Coleman Ave., Suite B12
    Santa Clara, CA 95050

  • The Santa Clara Valley Water District will then contact you to conduct a post-installation inspection.
  • After successful completion of the post inspection, a rebate check will be calculated and mailed to you.

Do not purchase the hardware or install it until you receive an approval to proceed!
