What is the Water-Wise
House Call Program?
Since 1994, the Santa Clara Valley Water District has been helping residents improve their irrigation efficiency. Through the Water-Wise House Call program, surveyors perform FREE site irrigation evaluations to assist home owners save water and money while maintaining a healthy landscape.

What is RISHRP?
The District’s Residential Irrigation System Hardware Rebate Program (RISHRP) is a rebate program which has been developed to help residents save water and money by increasing the efficiency of their irrigation system.  The program offers rebates on new efficient irrigation hardware of up to $1,000 per home. 

Who can participate in RISHRP?

• Any home owner who meets the RISHRP program requirements and has completed a residential water survey within three years of applying for a rebate.

What are the RISHRP Program requirements?

• Home must have participated in a residential survey program within the three years of applying for RISHRP rebate.  To schedule a residential survey, please call (800) 548-1882.
• Landscape must consist of at least 1,600 sq ft of irrigated area
• An existing irrigation system must be in working order prior to participation; new construction does not qualify for an RISHRP rebate.

How do I get started?

• Participate in the Water-Wise House Call program; or contact (800) 548-1882 to schedule an appointment.
• Review your survey results and call (408) 265-2607 ext. 2554 to receive a rebate application which will list the qualified hardware for your site.
• Purchase and install all the hardware needed for the upgrades; keep the receipt.
• Mail your completed rebate application form to: 5700 Almaden Expressway; San Jose CA 95118
• The Santa Clara Valley Water District will then contact you to conduct a post-installation inspection.
• After successful completion of the post inspection, a rebate check will then be calculated and mailed to you.

Do not purchase the hardware or install it until you receive an approval to proceed!

Qualifying RISHRP irrigation includes:
All irrigation hardware appearing on this list qualifies for rebates through the Residential Irrigation System Hardware Rebate program.  It is the participant’s responsibility to ensure that any hardware for which rebates are applied for meet the program requirements listed below. 

Any hardware that does not meet the requirements listed will not be eligible for a Residential Irrigation System Hardware Rebate Program rebate. 

How long will the rebate be available?
This rebate will be available until funds are depleted or June 30, 2009, whichever comes first.
